iDon't care!

On Jan 27, Apple's C.E.O Steve Jobs introduced the iPad to the World.
And the world says: "not another one!"
This tablet is presented as the missing link between your iPhone and your macBook.
No, the world wasn't dying in anticipation for an iSomething to fill up the infinitesimal gap between the two Apple inc electronics, but the company execs are eager to prove us so wrong.
Before even entering a debate on whether or not this new gadget is going to revolutionize the way we read, doodle, eat, sleep or take a dump I would just like to take a sec and vent.
I mean, dude! Can we just breathe for a minute here? Because it seems like everytime I so much as blink, a new Apple product surfaces from God-knows-where and taunts me.
Ever since, the first iPod made its debut a few years back in 2001, the crunched apple logo brand has been restless and popping a whole string of gadgety-electronics fitted to all venues of life. What's even more puzzling is that with each new device, the question becomes more pressing of how human society, ever was, prior to iPods, iTunes, iPhones and now iPads.
Have you ever thought something along the line of the statements below?
"It's hard to believe! Ten years ago iPods didn't exist, yet today I wouldn't dream of leaving for my daily work commute without  my nano!"; or "Without my iPhone, I might as well be a hermit stripped of all possible social connections"; or even "Awesome!! My macBook Air is quite the shit, unless I feel like playing a CD, in which case it's a screw up!".
And these words of excitement aren't even from paid advertisers either. Just random friends and family  who happen to be Apple products users. I too, am guilty of fretting over some of the Apple merchandises I possess. I have, on all too many occasions, heard some statements roll off my tongue almost unintentionally.  Like that time I sputtered "Once you go mac you don't go back" as to respond to an impetuous suggestion that lacking the funds to indulge in a new MacBook, I should get a Dell or some PC stuff. But I think, somehow we've reached saturation in the here-comes-the-next-big-thing-to-get-you-hooked arena. I mean iPad? Would you look at that name too? Who came up with that joke of an appellation?
All kidding aside, what are the strong points for the launch of an iPad and why should iCare or you or any of us? Here's what the people at Digital-Arts-Magazine are saying:

It's a device that's supposed to take on netbooks at their own game and win, prevent working on the train or plane from being an ergonomic nightmare, and make Apple fanatics feel special again for owning one now the world has an iPhone. But it's also a useful tool for designers, illustrators, and digital artists looking to get creative on the move.
