Anyone else thought Tiger Woods forced apology on TV was balooney?
Not what he said (total P.R literature) , not the way he said it either (robotic, over- dramatic, ambien induced?). Just the whole fact that he had to go out there and book a prime time slot and apologize. Anyone else see the absurdity of it all surface yet? We're all pretty much aware that being in the limelight is a game with rules set by the media; however absurd and out of touch with the real world they may appear, the rules are there and to access such tremendous exposure is to agree to some extent to play by these rules. But this Tiger Woods media-law-abiding apology, I'd say, is a farce!
Amid all the chatter, mockery and congratulatory response set by the golfer's televised apology, there were certain (muffled) voices who believed that scripted or heartfelt, contrived or sincere, this public apology didn't have to take place.
I believe it to be the first time (hopefully also the last) my opinion would second that of Donald Trump on any subject possible, but here it is: No, Tiger Woods didn't owe us, the public at large, any apology, in any way, shape or form. Screw that!
Or in Mr. Trump's own words: "I hate seeing Tiger apologize. I'd much rather see Tiger go out and win tournaments and have a great life." Sure, the Donald was giving Forbes' online journalists his opinion from an image branding perspective, but that doesn't take away the fact that he was right.
